WINTER CHEERLEADING TEAMS for 2nd - 4th Grades: 
These teams are full season and open to 2nd - 4th graders interested in learning/developing cheerleading  skills, building strength and endurance while learning a halftime routine that will be performed at GCAA basketball playoff games. The routine will include all aspects of a halftime cheerleading routine including age appropriate jump sequences, motions, dance, tumbling, cheers and stunting.  Teams may consist of combined grades during winter.
SpiritFIT:
Stretching and strengthening is a key component to optimum athletic performance.  This specialty class is for both kickline and cheer athletes in 5th - 8th grades. The focus of SpiritFIT is to help increase your flexibility and teach key exercises for strength, stretching and conditioning applied to kickline and cheer.  Focus will be on form, posture and developing muscle memory.  Get your splits, toe touches, jumps, kicks, and leg extensions to the their maximum in this fun energetic class. This clinic is recommended to take prior to or along with cheer or kick prep classes. 
LITTLE KICK AND POM:  
This specialty class is for those interested in developing kickline and dance technique skills and musicality in a structured and fun environment.  Skills taught in this class will build the foundation for future kickline dances and is taught in a progressional format to ensure the safety of all of its members.  This class will also offer age appropriate strength and conditioning needed for kickline and dance athletes.

WINTER CHEER PREP: 
This winter specialty clinic is for those interested in focusing in on and developing cheer motions, stunts, jumps & tumble skills in a structured environment.  This clinic will prepare members for a GC Spirit cheer team or a high school cheerleading team.  This clinic will focus on developing skills, building strength and endurance needed for jumps, stunts and strong motions.  This group will also learn cheer dance skills and experience cheer conditioning each week.   We recommend members take Spirit Strength & Conditioning prior to taking this clinic.  
CHEER TUMBLES-STUNTS:  
This specialty class is offered in the winter session for those who are serious about developing cheer stunt and tumble skills in a safe and structured environment.  Skills taught in this class are within NSCA/SCYCA & AYC cheerleading guidelines that we follow.  Tumble skills include forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges, kick overs and round offs and back handsprings.  Stunt skills include t-lifts, thigh stand, triple base flat backs, pony sit and shoulder height prep level stunts.  This class is taught in a progressional format to ensure the safety of all of its members.  This class will also offer age appropriate strength and conditioning needed for cheer athletes.
KICKLINE PREP CLINIC: 
Kickline Prep is a specialty class for those interested in focusing on and developing kickline technique including kicks, turns, jumps and flexibility.  This class will prepare members for a GC Spirit kickline team or a high school kickline team.  We recommend members take SpiritFIT in Session I is recommended as a prerequisite.
KICKLINE TRYOUT PREP CLINIC: 
This clinic is designed to prepare participants for high school kickline team tryouts.  The clinic is open to all experience levels in 8th - 11 grades and will focus on developing skills and improving overall strength and endurance.  All athletes will learn conditioning exercises to prepare their body for the high demands of a high school kickline team. Focus will be on form and technique throughout the session.  Participants receive feedback throughout the session and also at the mock tryout held on the last day of the session. Possible guest appearances from GCHS coaches and alumni team members.  Spirit FIT Session I is recommended as a prerequisite.
